Stay prepared and informed with the FR200 from Etón/Grundig. If the power goes out and batteries aren't available, the FR200 can function for up to an hour with only ninety seconds of hand cranking. Its built-in generator means that even in the most desperate situations, you'll still have access to local news and information--as well as to news from around the world. The unit's four-band tuning receives AM, FM, SW1 (shortwave 1), and SW2 stations, and an included rechargeable battery pack provides reliable, renewable, internal power for everyday use. The radio houses a 2.5-inch speaker. A .125-inch stereo headphone jack offers private listening, a built-in light comes in handy during lights-out emergencies, and the unit's fine-tuning knob makes it easy to dial in hard-to-tune stations. A 4.5V DC jack allows an external power connection (power adapter not included). A 360-degree telescope antenna provides the best radio signal for FM and SW, while a built-in AM antenna provides high sensitivity for AM reception. The FR200 can run on three AA batteries.

It does what it says and if your looking for a good emergency radio, this is it. I have two for emergencies and everything I have tested on it works just fine.
Shortwave band reception is mostly limited to the strongest stations. Good overall emergency radio and a great value for the money. Excellent reception on AM & FM Bands. Small and compact with decent sound for a portable.
The wind-up feature is more fun than utilitarian since three AA batteries will power this little gadget for days. I think Radio Shack started this consumer-unfriendly trend of selling incomplete products, and Microsoft does the same through its Vista non-ware. This radio is sold under several brands, and is good for daily use as well as for emergencies because it picks up signals from a longer distance than most radios. I am put out that the radio did not come with an AC adaptor, and I refuse to buy one at the high prices now charged for them.
I recommend Grundigs very highly and since electronic stores often don't carry them, Amazon is the best place to buy them. The batteries seem to last forever. They're also light weight and small enough to fit anywhere. In emergencies a battery pack inside can be charged with a hand crank if the AA batteries quit. Grundig Radios are exceptionally good portable radios. I have two or three around the house each tuned to a different station, because they're so inexpensive. The sound quality is very good for such small speakers.
Need a power supply (adapter) if you are going to listen to it regularly. Sturdy radio, sound is good, battery life seems good also. Smaller then I had imagined but good sound. One model comes with an adapter if you can find it.
